Race Information

Date and Location

  • August 22, 2026! We are designing a course for you as you read this sentence so please keep posted for start/finish and course updates.

Race Format

  • The deceptively difficult race covers only 20 miles but includes six full gas segments that will challenge the strongest athletes.

  • Leman’s Start, 10-15 riders per wave; waves go off every 2 minutes

  • Six timed off-road segments, each ranging from 3-10+ minutes of all-out intensity.

  • Segments include a mix of surface types, including single-track, double-track, sand trails, and beaches.

  • The course will challenge off-road handling skills such as body bike separation, powering through mixed surfaces, sand cornering, dismounting, shouldering, and running.

  • Racers are competing for the fastest cumulative time of the six timed segments.

  • Transfer segments are not meant to be raced and should be made safely.

  • The course is lightly marked and self-guided. Load the course map to your head unit. Study the map, learn the segment start and finish points, learn the transfers, understand road crossings, etc…

  • Take caution when crossing intersections and passing pedestrians; we want everyone to safely arrive at the post-race celebration.

Reg, Check-In, and Staging

  • Please pre-reg; it helps us organize start waves ahead of time and start the event on time.

  • On the event day, please check in with the race director when arriving to receive your wave start time.

  • The race director will stage riders in waves of 10-15, depending on the number of registered riders.

  • Waves will be released every 2 minutes to manage lap traffic in the timed segments

Equipment and Safety

  • Helmets are mandatory for all participants throughout the race.

  • Please ensure your bike is in good working condition before the race.

  • Carry any necessary tools or equipment for minor repairs or adjustments.

  • 33cm+ file treads are the recommendation.

  • This is an excellent reason to prepare your CX bike for the upcoming season.

  • Gravel bikes, MTBs, and Fat Bikes are welcome. Sorry, no e-bikes.

  • Self-supported, no feed zones, aid stations, or neutral support.

  • It’s June in the Bay. Mosquitos, ticks, and other insects are likely to be present. Consider wearing and bringing bug spray and checking yourself for any ticks picked up along the way upon finishing.

  • Sunscreen is a good idea.

Post Race Hangs

  • ROR will provide some post-race beverages.

  • There are bodegas and local eateries nearby for food and additional drinks.

  • Awards will be presented to the top finishers in each category.

Weather Contingency

  • Rain or shine.
